Leucadia Beach
South of Carlsbad, Leucadia, was once an agricultural community where farmers grew flowers, tomatoes and ornamental plants. Leucadia has an interesting contrast of casual hippies, businesses, luxury beach homes, surf shops, taco eateries and restaurants along South Coast Highway 101. Leucadia also features excellent surfing, fishing and swimming.

Parking
Two small parking lots are available but there are no restrooms or lifeguards. Local use several small parking lots located on Neptune Avenue to access Leucadia State Beach. Parking is also available along residential streets west of the 101.
Directions
From the I-5, exit Leucadia Boulevard or La Costa Avenue exit and head west, towards the ocean.
Tips
From Neptune Avenue, take the stairs down the beach. The beaches are uncrowded and quiet. Don’t forget to pack a lunch because there is no fast food near the beach. You’ll need to walk several blocks east from the beach to Highway 101 for a good selection.
